MIC deputy president Datuk Seri Dr S. Subramaniam described the DAP's claim for additional seats in the next general election as tantamount to seizing power.

"DAP seems desperate and is becoming so greedy as to claim for additional seats without getting the views and approval of its partners in the opposition," he told reporters after commenting on the statement by DAP secretary-general Lim Guan Eng that the party was aiming at 13 additional seats, comprising three
parliamentary and 10 state constituencies in 13th general election.

Subramaniam who is also Human Resource Minister attended a dinner organised by the Association for Malaysian Indians of Kelantan Origin here Saturday night.

He said the opposition had tried to copy the Barisan Nasional power-sharing concept but had failed because there was no understanding among them and also because they did not have a sustainable plan to develop the country.
