Former Teratai assemblyman Jenice Lee Ying Ha today filed a civil suit against the DAP in a bid to nullify the termination of her party membership which she had held since 2001.

Lee, 33, filed the writ of summons through Messrs Harjit Sandhu at the High Court Civil Registry here, naming DAP secretary general Lim Guan Eng as the defendant.

Seeking a declaration that she is still a member of the party, Lee in her statement of claim said she only came to know of the termination of her membership through the media last April 20.

She is also seeking an injunction to restrain the defendant from stripping her of the membership, besides other costs and relief deemed fit by the court.

Last June 5, Lee filed a similar action against the DAP but retracted it on Oct 28.
