To all teachers who contribute in providing education to the children of Malaysia, Datuk Seri Najib Razak appreciates you.

The prime minister today conceded that the teachers carried a heavy burden in churning out students with education and capability so that they were prepared to inherit the struggles to bring development to the country.

"May 16 every year is celebrated as Teachers' Day throughout the country to give appreciation to the deeds and sacrifices made by the teachers who had struggled to educate the country's children and guide them to become outstanding in whatever fields they chose.

"We are thankful to the teachers who have given much deeds, sacrificed their time and energy untirelessly to discharge their heavy responsibility," he said in his blog www.1malaysia.com.my in conjunction with Teachers' Day today.

The premier said, the tasks and responsibilities born by the educators were heavy and challenging, thus they ought to be appreciated.

"On behalf of all Malaysians and myself personally, I wish all the educators a 'Happy Teachers' Day' for their invaluable contribution for the sake of the race and country. Terima Kasih Cikgu," said Najib.
