UMNO President Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak today opened the 2015 UMNO General Assembly with a speech entitled "UMNO: Perfecting A Struggle".

Attired in a red Baju Melayu, the Prime Minister arrived at the Merdeka Hall, Putra World Trade Centre at 9.25 am.

Earlier, Najib inspected a guard of honour mounted by members of the Wanita, Youth and Puteri UMNO wings, and participated in the raising of the UMNO flag at Plaza Merdeka, Putra World Trade Centre.

A total of 2,654 delegates from 191 divisions had eagerly waited to listen to the presidential address at the annual assembly held for three days until Saturday.

The assembly was also attended by leaders of the Barisan Nasional (BN) component parties as well as representatives of 119 delegations from 21 nations.

The assembly this time differs from the previous meeting when most of the members of the Supreme Council wore red Baju Melayu just like the dress worn by Najib unlike previously when they wore various colours, and this reflected the spirit of unity in the party.
