KUALA LUMPUR:Cross-state travel and social activities are still not allowed during the Movement Control Order (MCO) 2.0 period which is extended another 14 days until February 18.

Senior Minister (Defence Cluster) Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob said the decision was made due to the surge in cases and clusters involving cross-state activities.

"I want to inform that every decision made is based on data that has already been released by the Ministry of Health (MOH).

"When we allow the cross-state travel not too long ago, it contributed to positive cases and there are 31 clusters related to cross-state activities.

"That is why we emphasise cross-state (travel) should not be given (because) it gives an increase in positive cases," he said in a press conference, here on Tuesday.
