KOTA KINABALU: Gabungan Rakyat Sabah (GRS) chairman Datuk Seri Hajiji Noor said the party will back a Federal Government that can offer stability to Sabah and Sarawak.

Sabah chief minister Hajiji said he had received a call from Sarawak chief minister Tan Sri Abang Johari Tun Openg to discuss the possibility of an understanding to support the Federal Government.

"We have discussed and come to an understanding about supporting the government that will be formed...that can bring about stability to the nation, especially to Sabah and Sarawak.

"We will offer the seats that we have won to support the Government that can ensure stability," he told reporters at the official residence of the Sabah chief minister in Sri Gaya, here this morning.

Hajiji also claimed that GRS and Barisan Nasional (BN) have won 13 Parliamentary seats, and one by Perikatan Nasional (PN) from the 25 Parliamentary seats contested in the state.

Asked about which party would be supported, Pakatan Harapan (PH) or Perikatan Nasional (PN) to form the government, Hajiji said the possibility would be discussed.

"What is important is that we as a part of the Borneo pack will support a government that will be formed. We cannot say which party will form the government because the full results are not out yet," he said.
