Cabinet members must agree with Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Razak in whatever decisions he makes, says a senior minister.

Home Minister Datuk Seri Ahmad Zahid Hamidi said, if there were Cabinet members who had lost faith, doubted the decisions and issued statements (to that effect) openly, they should resign without being asked.

"We don't have to wait for the prime minister to dismiss or remove him," he said when asked about the ultimatum given by Najib to Cabinet members who did not support his handling of the 1Malaysia Development Berhad issue.

Ahmad Zahid was speaking to reporters after the home ministry's monthly assembly here today.

Rural and Regional Development Minister Datuk Seri Mohd Shafie Apdal yesterday (June 3) quashed rumours that he planned to resign from the Cabinet.

Defence Minister Datuk Seri Hishammuddin Tun Hussein also denied rumours of his quitting the Cabinet.
