The Selangor Meneteri Besar crisis which ended with the sacking of Tan Sri Abdul Khalid Ibrahim from the party yesterday was an expected outcome, said Barisan Nasional chairman Datuk Seri Noh Omar.

According to him, although the script has ended with his sacking, it would be interesting to watch what would be PAS’s stand on Abdul Khalid’s sacking, as its two top leaders had in the past, thrown their support behind him.

“The next episode lies in PAS, whether they will continue to support Abdul Khalid as they had said before this or will they retract their support,” he said when contacted by Astro AWANI.

“If they are sincere, they can invite him to join the party as the position of MB and state assemblyman is now the status of independent,” he said.

Yesterday, PKR disciplinary committee chairman Datuk Dr Tan Kee Kwong announced the sacking of Abdul Khalid from the party for various reasons including disobeying party orders to relinquish his position for party president Datuk Seri Dr Wan Azizah Wan Ismail.

However, PAS spiritual leader Datuk Nik Aziz Nik Mat said PAS Syura council will maintain its decision to support Abdul Khalid as the Selangor MB.

Meanwhile, Noh said Abdul Khalid can maintain as the state chief despite his sacking from the party as his appointment was according to the Constitution.

“This is the first time in Selangor’s history, its MB is a independent state assemblyman. For now, UMNO Selangor will take the wait and see approach,” he added.

Abdul Khalid said he will seeking an audience with the Selangor Sultan on his fate.
