DAP Parliamentarian Lim Kit Siang is happy to be back in the Dewan Rakyat after serving his six-month suspension since October last year.

The Gelang Patah MP was welcomed by DAP representatives with a banner which read ‘Selamat kembali Lim Kit Siang. Pantang Undur’ (Welcome back Lim Kit Siang. Will not back down).

In a press conference at the Parliament lobby, Lim, who is also DAP advisor, urged Parliament to continue it's investigation on the 1Malaysia Development Berhad (1MDB) scandal.

“I am very happy to be back after being absent for six months.

“Happy, but I hope to hear a response from the Prime Minister and Parliament can do its job to press for an answer on the 1MDB scandal.

"Do not allow others to do things that should be done by the Parliament and the Malaysian authorities, " he said.

Lim was suspended for six months for allegedly making disparaging remarks against Dewan Rakyat Speaker Tan Sri Pandikar Amin Mulia.

Lim had allegedly accused Pandikar of abusing his power when he temporarily suspended the Public Accounts Committee (PAC) investigations into 1MDB.

The motion to suspend Lim was tabled by Minister in the Prime Minister's Department Datuk Seri Azalina Othman Said, on Oct 21, last year.
