Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak said Malaysia always placed priority on public security and confidence as well as those of the foreign guests'.

He said he did not treat lightly the warning and advice given by the other countries to their nationals on the threat of terrorism in Kuala Lumpur or any part of Malaysia.

"Malaysia always places priority on the security of its people as well as our guests from abroad, especially in popular public areas and tourist destinations.

"Countries which have information on terrorist threats in Malaysia are recommended to inform the authorities in Malaysia and not to cause public disorder.

"We have never ignored any information and intelligence report that we received," said Najib in his entry in his Facebook website Tuesday.

In his entry, the Prime Minister also drew attention to the observation he made yesterday on the joint patrols by the Royal Malaysia Police (PDRM) and the Malaysian Armed Forces (ATM) under the National Blue Ocean Strategy in the Bukit Bintang area.

A total of 170 personnel from the PDRM and another 170 members of the ATM were involved in patrols carried out for 24 hours per day in areas of public concentration in Kuala Lumpur.

Najib said the joint patrols would be continued for as long as it was felt necessary.
