Police have received three reports regarding attempts to topple the government.

Inspector-General of Police, Tan Sri Khalid Abu Bakar when met Bukit Aman today, said action would be taken against anyone violating the constitution and insisted that police will not interfere in the affairs of any political party.

He said, the reports had been lodged by several individuals based on a statement made by Deputy Prime Minister, Datuk Seri Ahmad Zahid Hamidi recently.

On Saturday, Ahmad Zahid revealed of attempts to topple the government by a ‘certain leader’ from the governing party (UMNO).

He also exposed an alleged plot to coax 37 Members of Parliament (MPs) from Barisan Nasional MPs, 87 from the opposition and an Independent member so that a motion of no-confidence could be tabled against Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Razak after tabling Budget 2016 in October.

He however denied former Deputy Prime Minister Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin was involved in the plot to topple the government.
