A total of six adults believed to have links with the Sulu intruders in East Sabah, have been arrested by the Malaysian police in two separate incidents in Semporna today.

Inspector General of Police Tan Sri Ismail Omar said in the first incident that occurred around 6.30am in Kampung Perigi, the police arrested four men while in the second incident that occurred around 8.50am in Jalan Semporna, they arrested two adults.

“They are currently being detained for investigations under Section 130 (c) of the Penal Code read together with the new Security Offences (Special Measures) Act 2012 (Sosma),” he said at a press conference in Felda Sahabat 16.

On March 2, six policemen were killed in an ambush by Sulu militants in Kampung Simunul.
