Hollywood actress Renee Zellweger is set to reprise her role as Bridget Jones in the latest installment from the Bridget Jones's Diary trilogy.

Following 2001's Bridget Jones Diary and 2004's Bridget Jones: The Edge of Reason, fans can now look forward to the release of the third installment, Bridget Jones's Baby, schedule for a 2016 release.

Universal Pictures UK posted a sneak peek of the film, featuring Zellweger hugging an iPad, which suggested that the character has gone digital and traded her signature diary.


Actors Patrick Dempsey and Colin Firth are also set to return in the latest film.

Dempsey also shared about his latest project on Instagram.

"Nice to be working in England. Renee and Colin are an absolute joy to work with," he said on the social media network.



British actor Hugh Grant, however, will not reprise his role as Daniel Cleaver.

It has been reported the the third installment of the film will not be based on the third novel from the series titled "Bridget Jones: Mad About The Boy".

According to the Daily Mail, the film will see Bridget as a 50-something mother-of-two while working for a British television programme.
