WASHINGTON:Hundreds of voters demonstrated in Washington, D.C.'s BLM Plaza as the country waited with bated breath for results of the presidential election.

Voter Darian McCrary carried a sign that read "Trump Pence OUT NOW!" but said Democrat Joe Biden wasn't exactly his top pick.

"This is the only option we have," McCrary said. "At the end of the day, it's about getting fascism out of the office."

An unidentified President Trump supporter said "it's just about America."

"Whether I'm falling from the sham or the scam or whatever it is, that's why I'm voting for him, and that's what it's about: America," he said through a mask that read, "Trump 2020." "It's for me and you and you and him. America."

Trump is spending election night just a block away from the protesters in the White House. He's watching votes come in in the residence with a few close aides.

More than 100 family, friends, donors and staff were set to watch returns from the White House East Room. Most campaign leadership were monitoring returns from a "war room" set up in the Eisenhower Executive Office building.

Extra fencing was installed for added security around the White House grounds in recent days.
