KUALA LUMPUR:Datuk Seri Mohammed Shazalli Ramly will be appointed Boustead Holdings Berhad Group Managing Director, effective 1 December 2020.

Shazalli replaces Datuk Seri Amrin Awaluddin who left Boustead recently. Amrin was reportedly asked to helm Lembaga Tabung Angkatan Tentera.

The CEO position at the armed forces pension fund has been vacant since Sept 30 after the resignation of Nik Amlizan Mohamed.

She had held the position since October 2018. She recently filled a similar role at Kumpulan Wang Persaraan (Diperbadankan) or KWAP.

Shazalli has had an illustrious career with over 30 years of professional experience in various industries namely Telecommunications, Media & Broadcasting, as well as Consumer Marketing.

He previously served as the Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Telekom Malaysia Berhad, after his stint as Regional CEO and Corporate Executive Vice President of Axiata Group Berhad.

Shazalli served as the CEO of Celcom Axiata Berhad from 2005 to 2016. Prior to that, he was the CEO of NTV7.

Shazalli started his career with the Lever Brothers (Unilever) and British American Tobacco Company.

He previously sat on the Boards of several organisations such as Malaysia Airline System Berhad (MAS) and Proton Holdings Berhad’s Special Task Force.

Shazalli holds a Master of Business Administration from St. Louis University, Missouri, USA and Bachelor of Science (Marketing) from Indiana University, Indiana, USA.

Datuk Seri Mohamed Khaled Nordin, Chairman of Boustead, welcomed Datuk Seri Mohammed Shazalli as the new Group Managing Director.

Boustead is LTAT’s investment arm and has a market capitalisation is currently in the region of RM1.3 billion.
