Defending champions, Kelantan booked their berth to the Malaysia Cup final after chalking up an aggregate 4-3 win over the Malaysian Armed Forces (ATM) in a second leg match at Sultan Muhammad IV Stadium here tonight.

The 2-2 draw tonight was enough for Kelantan to qualify for the final on Nov 3 at Stadium Shah Alam as they had won the first leg 2-1 at Selayang Stadium last Friday.

In the match today, ATM imported striker Marlon Alex James opened the score in the 18th minute and in 35th, added another goal by connecting a pass from Mohd Affize Faisal Mamat.

In the second half, Kelantan mounted their attack and were paid off in the 82nd minute when Ahmad Fakri Saarani scored with a powerful volley.

Kelantan skipper Mohd Badhri Mohd Radzi was the toast of his team when he connected a cross from substitute player Zairol Fitree Ishak in the 85th minute to seal their path to the final.

Also present at the match were Kelantan Menteri Besar Datuk Ahmad Yakob, Kelantan Football Association advisor, Tan Sri Annuar Musa and Chief of Armed Forces, Gen Tan Sri Zulkifeli Mohd Zin.

The other finalist which will be determined in the semi-final between Pahang and Sarawak at the State Stadium in Kuching will meet Kelantan.

For the record, Pahang won the first leg 3-1 against Sarawak in the semi-final first leg at Darul Makmur Stadium, Kuantan last Saturday.
