There was no official discussion on the statement made by PKR President, Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim, in a Cabinet meeting this afternoon.

PAS deputy president, Tuan Ibrahim Tuan Man, said Anwar's claim that he had the support of the majority of MPs to form a government was not important and was only mentioned in passing.

"We are just talking in passing. It is not a big issue for us. The party secretary has already given a statement, I think that is enough," said Tuan Ibrahim who is also the Minister of Environment and Water.

He was commenting on Anwar's statement at a press conference in Kuala Lumpur today claiming to have the support of a majority of MPs to form a government.

Commenting further, Tuan Ibrahim reiterated Pas' previous statement that the party remained firmly behind the leadership of Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin as Prime Minister.

"I challenge him (Anwar) to submit a list of their names who support him," he added.

On Datuk Seri Ahmad Zahid Hamidi's statement that UMNO and Barisan Nasional (BN) could not stop the party's MPs if they wanted to support Anwar, Tuan Ibrahim said they needed to be ensured to support Perikatan Nasional (PN).

"In a democratic system, that is their right (to give support). But the party controls the MPs.

"So the party is responsible for making sure our MPs support the Perikatan Nasional," he said when met after the World Ozone Day celebration and the launch of National Environment Day 2020, here, on Wednesday.

World Ozone Day which is also celebrated in 197 other countries is celebrated on 16 September every year while National Environment Day (October 21) with a national level celebration that will take place in Kubang Kerian, Kelantan, on October 24.
