KUALA LUMPUR: Ikatan Demokratik Malaysia (MUDA) candidate, Amira Aisya Abd Aziz has won the Puteri Wangsa State Assembly (DUN) seat with 18,891 votes.

MUDA, whose registration was only approved earlier this year, has made the Puteri Wangsa state seat a starting point to make strides in the country's political landscape.

Amira, who is also MUDA secretary-general, defeated Barisan Nasional (BN) candidate Ng Yew Aik who garnered 14,362 votes while Perikatan Nasional (PN) candidate Loh Kah Yong obtained 7,914 votes.

Three other candidates - Khairil Anwar Razali from Parti Pejuang Tanah Air (Pejuang) got 2,158; the candidate from Parti Bangsa Malaysia (PBM) got 2,103 and the Independent candidate, Adzrin Adam 346 votes.
The total was derived after 159 out of 184 voting channels were counted.
