Tired of waiting for their payment, three loan sharks or Ah Longs sought revenge by kidnapping a younger brother of one their borrowers.

Their effort to obtain the money however proved to be fruitless as the police had managed to track and arrest them within two hours after a report was lodged.

Selangor CID chief, SAC Mohd Adnan Abdullah said it all started after police received a report on midnight, Thursday, from a 25-year-old restaurant helper who told that his brother was kidnapped.

“He received a threatening call at around 1pm earlier from one of the kidnapper who told him that his younger brother was kidnapped from his house at Kampung Jawa, Klang and he demanded ransom money worth RM9,000 for his brother’s release,” said Mohd Adnan.

It was learned that the kidnappers wanted the money because the victim’s older brother who is in his late 20s had borrowed them the money for business purposes.

At 2.10am, which is two hours after the report was lodged, police raided an abandoned house at Taman Maznah at the nearby area and detained the suspects.

“Four people including an Indonesian woman aged between 20 and 44 were arrested. One of them had eight previous criminal records,” he said.

Police also seized a Toyota Camry, a Yamaha motorcycle, two rod of canes, three pieces of note books, two pieces of cheque books and five units of handphones.

Initial investigation found that the suspects kidnapped the victim to seek revenge on the victim’s older brother who was overdue in paying the loan debt from them.

The victim had been sent to Tengku Ampuan Rahimah Hospital in Klang for further medical treatment.

The case is investigated under kidnapping and extortion.
