Pokok Sena MP, Datuk Mahfuz Omar has urged for an explanation for 1Malaysia Development Berhad (1MDB) for the alleged cash stashed in a BSI account in Singapore.

“I urge 1MDB to provide an explanation imply that 1MDBH had cash in a BSI account in Singapore. It is embarrassing for a Parliament to continue being humiliated with lies and puzzling explanations by the government just so we could conceal our humiliation and mistakes committed by 1MDB.

Mahfuz also questions 1MDB’s reluctance in maintaining transparency and seen to be hiding some things.

He also revealed his support of Public Accounts Committee Chairman, Datuk Nur Jazlan Mohamed in conducting an audit on 1MDB immediately.

“1MDB should not be frivolous in handling the matter as it would look as though 1MBD is attempting to hide something from public’s eyes.

“I fully support Nur Jazlan so that the Finance Ministry can authorise for 1MDB financial statement that ends March 31, 2015 to be audited immediately by Deloitte & Co. Does 1MDB has the intention to choose a new auditor to replace Deloitte & Co.?”, he said in a statement here today.

The 1MDB issue has intensified to a new level especially after the national strategic development agency was reportedly to have incurred losses of RM38 billion.
