A Bukit Aman police officer fractured his right leg while his wife and two children were killed in a road accident as he was driving last night from Kuala Lumpur to Terengganu for early voting in the 13th General Election.

Supt Ghazali Daud, 49, said he had left Kuala Lumpur in an MPV at 10.15 pm yesterday to vote at the 9th Battalion Kubang Badak PGA camp here and then to go to Kelantan.

The accident took the lives of Ghazali's wife, Haniza Abd Rahman, 40 and his children, Ahmad Firdaus Izzudin, 10, and Nur Aliah Adibah, nine.

Four other people were critically injured while two more sustained light injuries when the multi-purpose vehicle they were travelling in skidded and plunged into a ditch at Km 17 of Jalan Kuala Terengganu-Kuala Berang near Kampung Sungai Mali at about 3.50 am.
