Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak's recent visit to Gaza has shown the world Malaysia's undivided support for the Palestinians who suffered under the brutalities of the Zionist regime.

Deputy Minister in the Prime Minister's Department Datuk Ahmad Maslan said the visit made by Najib, who is also the first Malaysian prime minister to set foot in Gaza last Tuesday, had also strengthen the existing ties between Malaysia and Palestine.

"It is a historic humanitarian visit by Malaysia, just like a friend who is always concerned about the sufferings of another friend.

"The visit is also a moral support for Palestine so that one day it will be able to break free from Israel's oppression," he said at the 'Hospital for Gaza' Charity Dinner here.

The dinner co-organised by Malaysian Islamic Organisations Consultative Council (Mapim) and Rabbani Production was also attended by Mapim secretary-general Mohd Azmi Abdul Hamid.

The event is an initiative taken by Mapim to raise fund for the construction of a hospital in Gaza, which is expected to cost about RM100 million.

Ahmad said the hospital was the most important facility needed by the Palestinians in Gaza.
