The no-confidence motion against Attorney-General Tan Sri Mohamed Apandi Ali is not against the Constitution, said Opposition leader Datuk Seri Dr Wan Azizah Wan Ismail.

“The motion did not involve the Parliament to expel the AG. My motion was only to call on the Dewan Rakyat to decide if the AG had lost the confidence,” she said.

The Permatang Pauh MP said if the motion was passed, it would help the Prime Minister to decide whether or not to maintain Mohamed Apandi as the AG.

She said an appeal on the matter will be submitted to Dewan Rakyat Speaker Tan Sri Pandikar Amin Mulia soon.

Yesterday, the Dewan Rakyat had rejected a motion to remove Mohamed Apandi on the grounds that "it did not fit the Constitution."
