The alliance of Pakatan Harapan-Barisan Nasional has won simple majority in Negeri Sembilan to form government as of 10.15pm, according to the Election Commission (EC)

Unofficial results at press time showed that the coalition had won 22 seats in the state.

This includes the Chennah and Rantau seats held by DAP secretary-general Anthony Loke and Umno vice-president Datuk Seri Mohamad Hasan respectively.

Negeri Sembilan Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Aminuddin Harun also retained the Sikamat seat.

The unity government held all 36 seats in the Negeri Sembilan legislative assembly before the state election. PH had 20 seats while BN had 16.

Meanwhile, the EC announced that PAS would remain in power in Terengganu and Kelantan after winning enough seats to secure a simple majority in both states.

At 10.15pm, EC chairman Tan Sri Abdul Ghani Salleh said the party had won 17 out of 32 seats in Terengganu and 23 out of 45 seats in Kelantan.

"With this, PAS in Terengganu and Kelantan obtains a majority of more than 50 per cent from the total number of seats being contested."
