The Malaysian Examinations Council, Thursday, announced that Sijil Pelajaran Malaysia (SPM) 2013 candidates need not resit the Mathematics 2 paper as there was no leak.

In a statement here, the council said the decision was made after police investigations found there was no leak of the paper which was sat by candidates Nov 18.

On Wednesday, Kuala Lumpur police chief Datuk Mohmad Salleh had told a media conference that police found there was no leak of the paper.

He said police investigated a report made by the Malaysian Muslim Consumers Association on Nov 22 and had called 56 witnesses to give their statements including students who participated in a seminar in which the question paper was allegedly leaked.

Police investigations found the seminar organised on Nov 17, before the SPM examination was held, only discussed past year question papers as well as several forecast questions.

"There was no leak of SPM papers. The seminar also predicted several questions based on past SPM question papers," he said.
