The Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Commission (MCMC) raided Malaysiakini's office in Petaling Jaya on Tuesday.

The raid, which has a search warrant, was led by MCMC Deputy Director of Enforcement and Investigation Unit, Akmal Hamdy Baharuddin, together with six other members.

They also seized two computers from the office.

According to the portal, the raid was part of MCMC's investigation regarding a video news report uploaded on KiniTV, a subsidiary of Malaysiakini.

The report was based on a press conference held by former Batu Kawan Umno division vice-chief Datuk Khairuddin Abu Hassan.
