TEHRAN: Iranian Parliament Speaker Mohammad Baqer Qalibaf and Dewan Rakyat Speaker Tan Sri Johari Abdul held a meeting on Monday to discuss bilateral ties and regional developments.

Iranian news agency IRNA reported Johari met and talked with Qalibaf after arriving in Baharestan (Parliament Building) on Monday afternoon.

Johari is currently in Tehran to attend the inauguration ceremony of President Masoud Pezeshkian on Tuesday.

Qalibaf said, Iran under the new leadership, looks forward to continue its relations with Malaysia.

"We are ready to advance our relations in a deeper and wider way," Qalibaf said during the meeting with Malaysian speaker.

According to IRNA, Qalibaf also held separate meetings with his counterparts from Comoros, and Sri Lanka, as well as the vice-speaker from Ghana.
