JOHOR BAHRU: Ahead of early voting tomorrow, the Malaysian United Democratic Alliance (MUDA) today launched its manifesto for the Johor state election that, among others, promises people and welfare-oriented policies, pro-democratic practices and economic sustainability.

Named 'Tekad Muda' (MUDA's Pledge), party president Syed Saddiq Syed Abdul Rahman said the manifesto centres on five main cores that were carefully mapped out based on what the people of Johor wanted for a brighter future.

The five thrusts outlined are: energetic and pro-active leaders, pro-people democracy, championing the welfare of the middle-class (M40), bridging the economic gap and economic development for all.

"It is designed to ensure excellent administration of the state legislature, to improve the people's quality of life and to ensure economic sustainability for the future of Johor," he said when launching the manifesto virtually today.

Syed Saddiq said all MUDA candidates in the election will be made to declare their assets to the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) and also to the public as well as prepare service performance reports.

Meanwhile, MUDA secretary-general Amira Aisya Abd Aziz said MUDA's offer for the people does not stray from Pakatan Harapan's election manifesto unveiled prior to this as both share the same principles of rejecting corruption and party hopping.

"At the end of the day, we just want both manifestos to benefit the people and voters in the state," he said.

In the March 12 polls, MUDA will be fielding Fikri Musa in Parit Raja, R.Sangaran (Machap), Rasid Abu Bakar (Larkin), Amira Aisya (Puteri Wangsa), Lim Wei Jiet (Tenang), Nurafiqah M Zulkifli (Bukit Kepong) and Azrol Ab Rahani (Bukit Permai).
