With the current extreme dry and hot spell experienced in the country, some areas are already feeling the heat.

Several parts of Hulu Langat are experiencing temporary water interruption even though the water treatment plants serving the areas are fully operational.

The hot weather has resulted in high demand and usage of water supply causing water storage of the reservoirs in Cheras and Bangi to drop below its normal level, said Syabas in a statement today.

The water level in the reservoirs is being monitored.

Water supply will resume in stages when the water level in the reservoirs stabilize.

The affected areas in Hulu Langat are Taman Juara Jaya, Taman Bukit Belimbing, Taman Sungai Besi Indah, Taman Harmoni Indah, Taman Puncak Utama, Taman Putra Budiman, Taman Balakong Jaya, Taman Sri Timah, Taman Taming Jaya, Balakong Industrial Area, Selesa Jaya Industrial Area, Balakong Industry, Taman Taming Permai, Lifong Industrial Area, Juta Mines Condominium, Jade Hill, Kampung Baru Balakong, Bangi Golf Resort, Kajang Utama, UKM, Alam Sari, Taman Tropika, Taman Universiti, GMI, Taman Tropika 2 and Taman Vista Emas.

Water tankers have been dispatched to affected areas to minimize consumers’ inconvenience.

Consumers are advised to use water prudently during the current hot weather.
