JOHOR BAHRU: DAP today announced five more candidates who will be contesting under the Pakatan Harapan (PH) ticket in the Johor state election on March 12.

Johor DAP committee member M. Kanan has been picked to stand in the Bekok constituency, which the party won through Dr S. Ramakrishnan in the 14th general election (GE14).

Two DAP incumbent assemblymen - Ng Yak Howe in Bentayan and Yeo Tung Siong in Pekan Nanas - would be defending their seats.

The Kulai MP's special officer Wong Bar Yang has been chosen to contest in Senai, which was won by the party in GE14.

Senai incumbent Alan Tee Boon Tsong has been moved to contest in Yong Peng.

The candidates were announced by DAP secretary-general Lim Guan Eng at separate events in Kulai, Segamat and Batu Pahat.

DAP had earlier announced its candidates for Tangkak, Paloh, Mengkibol, Penggaram, Stulang and Johor Jaya.

Lim, in a press conference at the Johor DAP headquarters here, said he was confident that there would be no clashes between component parties of PH and its ally the Malaysian United Democratic Alliance (MUDA) in the Johor polls.
