KUALA LUMPUR: Cross-border prohibition in all Movement Control Orders (MCO) refers to districts led by District Officers, not the boundaries of the Royal Malaysian Police (PDRM) administration.

Senior Minister (Defence Cluster) Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob admitted that there was confusion on the matter when there were complaints from the public about being compounded due to crossing the PDRM borders.

"When we say movement within the district is allowed but cross-district and cross-state are not allowed... there is confusion about cross-district.

"There are two district boundaries, namely the administrative border led by the district officer and another is the police district.

"Actually, we have never used the police district border, instead we used the district under the administration of the district officer," he said at a press conference on Tuesday.

Regarding individuals who have been compounded due to the confusion, Ismail said they can appeal to the District Health Office.

"This matter has been corrected when I personally informed the PDRM, the district used is the government administration district which is led by the district officer.

"I would like to inform those who have been compounded in such cases, they can submit an appeal to the District Health Office according to the district of the compound issued," he added.

Earlier, a number of civilians complained in the social media of having been compounded even though they were in the district allowed.
