The bodies of two of the three foreign workers who were trapped in a landslide at a quarry in Bukit Sagu 4, near Panching here this afternoon, were found at 7pm and 9.20pm.

According to a General Operations Force spokesman the first two bodies found were identified as Rudi Hartono, 30, from Indonesia and Tang Yang Siew, 25, from Myanmar.

The third foreign worker identified as Cecep Rubiyanto, 22, is still missing.

During the 5pm incident the two workers, working on a 50m hill, were on their way down when the mishap took place while Rudi, the driver of an excavator was working at the foot of the hill.

According to a worker in the quarry, when the landslide occurred suddenly, Rudi had jumped off the excavator and tried to escape but was unfortunate when he was buried by the rubble.

Meanwhile, Kuantan police chief ACP Abdul Aziz Salleh said police received a report on the incident at about 5pm.

"Upon receiving the report, police and a Fire and Rescue team rushed to the scene to search for the workers, believed to be from Myanmar and Indonesia," he said.

He said police were now investigating the cause of the incident.

"We are looking into how the incident occurred and identity of victims. We will update after further investigations," he said.
