The dedication shown by lawyer Ramkarpal Singh's when detailing the technical and scientific aspects in the sodomy appeal hearing of Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim on Wednesday was highly praised by the Opposition Leader.

"The defence team's arguments were very impressive. I hope what they've done will do me a lot of good in this case," Anwar told reporters outside the Federal Court in Putrajaya after the second day of his appeal hearing concluded Wednesday.

Besides Ramkarpal, those in Anwar's defence team included N. Surendran and Sangeet Kaur Deo. The 13-man team is led by retired Federal Court judge Datuk Gopal Sri Ram, who is all too familiar with high-profile cases.

When asked about his supporters outside the courthouse allegedly provoking some others, Anwar said: "If that is true, then my observers from within the party will identify them and act accordingly."

Before leaving the court complex around 6pm, the Permatang Pauh MP met with his supporters and reminded them to continue to gather in a peaceful manner.

"Shout as loud as you want, that is our right. But do not provoke as it disrupts public peace," he told them.

Anwar's final appeal hearing for his second sodomy conviction will continue until Friday.
