ALOR SETAR: The success of defeating Sabah FC at home ground has motivated Kedah Darul Aman FC (KDA FC) to perform better in the next Super League match against Penang on Friday.

Its head coach, Aidil Sharin Sahak, however, said that his players need to focus as Penang is a strong opponent.

"I hope the players will focus in the upcoming match against Penang because it will not be easy and we want to win. They also want to win when playing at home ground.

"What is important is the three points obtained last night, to some extent, will increase the confidence of the players and then improve the weaknesses so that they can play better in the next match," he told reporters after the match against Sabah at the Darul Aman Stadium here, last night.

Commenting on the match, Aidil Sharin said he was happy with the 2-0 result obtained by KDA FC and praised the Sabah team which put a lot of pressure on his team for solid 90 minutes.

"Sabah does not have four imported players, but it is still able to put pressure on us, but we have a plan and our players follow the plan well so that they are able to stop the opponents," he said.

Meanwhile, Sabah head coach, Kurniawan Dwi Yulianto said he was satisfied with his team's performance, despite failing to collect any points.

He said, by being too careful, to some extent, hampered the team's planning, especially in the attacking side and failed to create scoring opportunities at the beginning of the match.

"The absence of four imported players also affected our plan, but behind this defeat there was a positive when many young players showed better action when facing the Kedah team which is definitely a strong team," he said.
