A construction company managing director, who was the fourth individual to be remanded in connection with the 1Malaysia Development Berhad (1MDB) investigation, was today released by the Putrajaya Magistrate’s Court.

Magistrate Nik Isfahanie Tasnim Wan Ab Rahim ordered for the release of the 48-year-old businessman on a Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) bail of RM100,000 – RM20,000 in cash and the remaining RM80,000 as oral assurance from two sureties.

The individual, who holds a "Datuk" title, before this was remanded for four days from last Saturday to assist in the probe under Section 16(a) of the MACC Act 2009 for corruption.

He was detained last Friday around 7pm at the MACC office.

The magistrate’s court had so far remanded five individuals to assist in the investigation on 1MDB.

Four of them had since been released on MACC bail.
