Youth and Sports Minister Khairy Jamaluddin expressed confidence in the expertise and quality of newly appointed Badminton Association of Malaysia's (BAM) Technical Director Morten Frost Hansen from
Denmark.

"I am confident with the ability of Morten Frost because he is the most suitable individual for the job. I hope he can revamp and restructure the coaching department of BAM.

"The other priority is the BAM Academy being build at Bukit Kiara. Once ready we will kick start the development programme together with the Education Ministry.

"We must ensure the success of the three main priorities...coaching under Morten Frost, academy and the development programme. I will make a holistic announcement once Morten Frost arrives here to start his duties in March," he told reporters at the New Affirmative Action Movement's (NAAM) first harvest
project for chilies at Kampung Ribu, Rantau, near here, today.

Also present was Deputy Youth and Sports Minister Datuk R. Saravanan who is the chief of NAMM.

NAMM will assist Indian youth in the country through entrepreneurship, business financing and human capital development, to cultivate cash crops through agriculture projects, manufacturing or retail.

BAM President Tan Sri Tengku Mahaleel Tengku Ariff is said to have given Morten Frost the mandate to run the show without any interference and to achieve the goals set by the BAM.

The Dane was regarded as one of the greatest badminton players in his generation.
