Selangor Menteri Besar, Datuk Seri Mohamed Azmin Ali has been challenged to reveal the name of the senior minister claimed to have tendered his resignation from the Cabinet.

Foreign Deputy Minister, Datuk Seri Reezal Merican Naina Merican said, Mohamed Azmin should name the Minister for the latter to come forward and admit or deny the claims.

Reezal Merican added that, Mohamed Azmin should avoid making such speculation by issuing a misleading statement that can create confusion among the people.

“It is a non-issue (of a Minister is resigning) because the Prime Minister has responded and asked Mohamed Azmin to explain. If it is true, the easiest is to name the individual. Who is resigning? So, this person can admit or deny the allegation. It’s not difficult, just name the individual,” said Reezal Merican at the Gerakan (Kepala Batas division) Chinese New Year Open at Kampung Selamat here today.

Reezal Merican, who is also Kepala Batas Member of Parliament, said this when asked to comment on Mohamed Azmin’s claims that a senior Minister had tendered his resignation to avoid from getting embroiled in the 1Malaysia Development Berhad (1MDB) issue.

Mohamed Azmin on Friday uploaded a Twitter post asking if a senior Minister resigned.

Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak issued a statement denying the claims and asked Mohamed Azmin to name the Minister.
