Parti Pejuang Tanah Air (Pejuang) today submitted an official application for registration as a political party to the Registrar of Societies (RoS).

One of the party's founders Datuk Seri Mukhriz Mahathir said the application was submitted together with supporting documents for the department's consideration.

"We hope RoS will approve the registration of Pejuang as soon as possible so that we can take part in the country's democratic system," he told reporters after submitting the application form here today.

Mukhriz said the party would use the Jawi letter 'pa' as a logo which represents the meaning of Pejuang while the three dots are the symbol of the three pillars, namely Rukun Islam, Rukun Iman, Rukun Negara.

On Aug 7, former prime minister Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad announced the formation of the new party known as Pejuang, which is not aligned either to Pakatan Harapan (PH) or Perikatan Nasional (PN) and with Mukhriz as its president.
