KUALA LUMPUR:Armada Chief Wan Ahmad Fayhsal Wan Ahmad Kamal demands 20 percent of candidates in the next General Election to come from the party's youth wing.

He said the proposal is in line with the Undi18 initiative.

"Armada proposes that 20 percent of candidates must consist of young people, including in Dewan Rakyat, Dewan Negara, state assemblies, local government councils, and support staff in the administration," he said at the 2020 Bersatu Annual General Assembly on Saturday.

"Students and young professionals need to be convinced to be active in politics and be with us. Armada must reorganise the platform and capture this segment under Mahasiswa Bersatu Negara," he added.

In his speech, Wan Ahmad Fayhsal also suggested the reshuffling in the education system involving Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET).

"The immediate overhaul of the education system, especially TVET is so that every youth, even before they leave school, has job opportunities that suit their talents and interests," he said.
