Former Wanita Umno deputy chief Datuk Kamilia Ibrahim said she is leaving it to the rakyat to decide on her fate in politics.

Kamilia will be contesting as an independent candidate against the Barisan Nasional (BN) candidate for the Kuala Kangsar parliamentary seat.

He also refused to comment on the statement by BN Chairman Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak that the people reject party leaders who leave the party.

"That's his right to make a statement and I do not have to say anything," she told reporters today.

Kamilia was met during brief ceremony announcing her five promised agendas to the people of the Kuala Kangsar constituency.

Najib, during his visit to Kuala Kangsar in his 13th general election tour yesterday, stressed that leaders who leave Umno will not gain any support from the people.

He said the party is more important than the individual and that fact has been proven in history.

"Anyone who leaves the party will in the end, be rejected by the people," said Najib, referring to the act of Umno founder Datuk Onn Jaafar, who left the party in the late 1950s.
