Former Minister in the Prime Minister's Department Datuk Zaid Ibrahim today gave his statement the Bukit Aman Police over his recent tweet that was deemed as 'seditious and misleading'.

Zaid arrived at around 11am along with his supporters and left the police headquarters after about an hour of having his statement taken.

Speaking to the media, Zaid said he was investigated under the Sedition Act and Section 233 (1)(a) of the Communications and Multimedia Act 1998.

The questioning follows Inspector-General of Police Tan Sri Khalid Abu Bakar's intructions to investigate Zaid’s tweet as an offence under the Sedition Act.

Zaid, in his tweet had questioned the integrity of the country's executive and principal public prosecutor.
