The Sessions Court has issued a warrant of arrest against a bank officer and her husband for failing to appear in court today for mention of their case.

The prosecution had applied for the order against Nur Shila Kanan, 33, and Basheer Ahmad Maula Sahul Hameed, 33, who are accused of transferring and withdrawing RM85,180 (S$31,872) belonging to four Malaysia Airlines MH370 victims.

Judge Norsharidah Awang further issued a show cause notice to the sureties of both accused, and set Feb 4 for re-mention.

Last Aug 20, Nur Shila claimed trial to four charges of transferring RM40,000 belonging to Malaysian Hue Pui Heng into the account of a Chinese national Tian Jun Wei, and another RM35,000 into the account of Ali Faran Khan.

She also faces four charges of using fake documents as genuine, two charges of cheating and two charges of stealing RM2,530 from the accounts of a Chinese national Ju Kun and flight steward Tan Size Hiang.

The bank officer further claimed trial to four alternative charges of stealing cash belonging to the same four victims.

She allegedly committed the offences at HSBC Bank, Lebuh Ampang branch, between May 14 and July 8, 2014.

Meanwhile, her husband Basheer Ahmad Maula also claimed trial to four charges of using a debit card and ATM card belonging to Tian to withdraw RM7,650 from the victim's account through four separate transactions.

He allegedly committed the offences at the HSBC Amanah ATM, Ampang Point in Ampang between 10.02am on May 15, 2014 and 11.28pm on June 29, 2014.

Deputy public prosecutor Ahmad Fadhli Mahmud represented the prosecution.
