KUALA LUMPUR: Simpang Renggam Member of Parliament, Maszlee Malik lost the Layang-Layang State Assembly (DUN) seat which he contested in the Johor State Election (PRN) today.

After 50 voting channels were counted, Mazlee obtained 4,756 votes compared to Barisan Nasional (BN) candidate from UMNO, Abd Mutalip Abd Rahim, who obtained 7,772 votes.

Perikatan Nasional (PN) candidate, Alagathiran Krishnan got 1,297 votes and another candidate Ahmad Shafiq Othaman from Parti Pejuang Tanah Air (Pejuang) lost his deposit with only 174 votes.
