Over the weekend, a handful of Astro AWANI viewers and readers shared images showing motorists using the emergency lane.

Although the police and PLUS Berhad have issued a ban on driving in the emergency lane, but many still ignored it.

Summons will be issued by the authorities if found guilty.

Astro AWANI contacted the Road Transport Department (RTD) Public Relations Officer Mohamad Sazali Baharudin to find out what can be done to curb this problem.

According to Sazali, with regard to any offenses in relation to the use of the emergency lane or any other traffic offenses, the public can channel their complaints and information to the following email address: aduantrafik@jpj.gov.my.

Complainants can include pictures of the committed offense as evidence and details such as date, time, vehicle registration numbers.

“After receiving the complaint, the department will conduct an investigation and issue a JPJ 114 notice to interrogate the vehicle owner as to provide further information in relation to the offense committed,” he said.

He added, if found guilty, a JPJ P22 notice will be issued to the vehicle owner.
