Only seven out of the 54 areas in Klang/Shah Alam are still experiencing water supply disruptions as of today.

Syarikat Bekalan Air Selangor Sdn Bhd (Syabas) Corporate Communication and Public Affairs Department general manager Priscilla Alfred said the areas were Kampung Bukit Lanchong, Section 26, Section 27, Section 28, Section 35, Jalan Kebun Nenas and UEP/USJ Subang.

"Meanwhile, of the 32 affected areas in Kuala Lumpur, only Taman Shamelin Perkasa is still experiencing disruptions and low water pressure," she said in a statement here, today.

At the same time, Priscilla said a part of the affected areas in Hulu Langat was still experiencing supply disruptions and low water pressure.

"This cannot be avoided because the supply of treated water from Sungai Semenyih and Sungai Langat water treatment plants could not meet the demands in the areas.

"The two plants cannot increase their production of treated water any further because they are already operating at maximum capacity," she said.

On the unscheduled water disruptions in Pulau Ketam and Sungai Lima, Priscilla said work to take out water pipes from the deep and muddy seabed was still ongoing with the help of an appointed contractor and the repair work could only be carried out later.
