Selangor Menteri Besar Mohamed Azmin Ali has reiterated his call to the federal government to disclose details of the state's water restructuring agreement.

He said it was "very unfortunate" that the public were kept in the dark over the deal till now, despite writing to Energy, Green Technology and Water Minister, Datuk Seri Dr Maximus Ongkili last Thursday for the documents to be made public.

"People have the right to know what the water deal is all about," he told reporters after visiting Pulau Ketam near here today.

Mohamed Azmin said the state government requested the federal government to make public the water deal as the agreement was subjected to the Official Secrets Act (OSA).

The master water agreement signed between the Selangor and Federal governments on Sept 12, concluded the restructuring of water supply for Selangor, Kuala Lumpur and Putrajaya.

On another note, Mohamed Azmin said initiatives would be undertaken to resolve several issues faced by the people of Pulau Ketam.

He said there was a dumpsite in Pulau Ketam that had been left unattended for some time, adding that he instructed Kumpulan Darul Ehsan Berhad and Worldwide Holdings to resolve the matter.
