Penang Chief Minister Lim Guan Eng is "jealous" that Korean pop sensation Psy will be attending BN's Chinese New Year open house.

This is the opinion of Penang Barisan Nasional (BN) publicity chief Tan Cheng Liang who also said Lim was "psychologically unbalanced" and was "practising double standards."

This comes following Lim's earlier statement urging those who wanted to attend the event to wear red, yellow and green attire to show support for political change.

“He is jealous that Psy will be a special guest to meet Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Razak who will be in Penang to attend the open house and to perform his hit song while he is there,” said Tan in a statement.

Her statement comes following Lim's earlier statement urging those who wanted to attend the event to wear red, yellow and green attire to show support for political change.

Lim had earlier supported the government's move to bring in Psy saying that it would be good for Penang’s tourism and will make the state even more famous.

“The public feel that Lim’s remarks are ridiculous, as he himself had promoted the event by saying the performance will help boost Penang’s economy. It proves that he is a man of many masks," said Tan.

“By calling people to wear red, green and yellow coloured clothes to attend the event, he has proven himself to be "psychologically unbalanced" and "practising double standards", she said.

Tan (pic) who is also Wanita MCA Penang chairman also condemned Lim for not contributing to the state's success in the past five years.

“Instead, he has arrogantly used Penang as his own personal asset or for his party’s own good. He is not even a Penangite.

“He should not simply criticise his political opponents and their policies when he himself practises double standards when it comes to irrational policies implemented by his fellow Pakatan allies, especially in Kedah and Kelantan where female performers are banned and hairstylists cannot attend to clients of the opposite sex,” she said.

Tan also added that Lim should focus on protecting the public's interest rather than undermining measures taken by BN to help develop the state.

Psy, whose real name is Park Jae-sang, will be performing alongside Asian Wave 2012 champion Shila Amzah Han Chiang High School in George Town on Feb 11.
