KUANTAN: The Pahang Barisan Nasional (BN) state manifesto, dubbed 'Ikhtiar Makmur', for the 15th general election (GE15) outlines six main issues including resolving water supply issues.

Pahang BN chairman Datuk Seri Wan Rosdy Wan Ismail said during the online launch last night that RM2.3 billion has been allocated for 217 water supply related projects in the state and promised that at least 90 per cent of the issues will be resolved in five years, based on careful planning and strategy.

Ikhtiar Makmur was made based on the state government's performance and the 2023 Pahang Budget that was passed on Nov 13, he said, adding that Pahang BN is determined to continue and widen its efforts, including the provision of free houses under Rumah Rakyat Pahang and taking over and rehabilitating abandoned housing projects of second generation FELDA settlers.

The Pahang Pride initiative, that covers a wide range of groups, including students, Orang Asli and athletes will also be continued and improved along with the tahfiz education ecosystem.

"If we get the mandate (to form the state government), BN vows to create more jobs for youth, especially through an increase in new investments in Pahang," he said.

Tourism will also receive a boost so that Pahang will remain the tourist destination of choice, along with food production under agricultural and livestock breeding programmes.

Wan Rosdy said they also wanted to continue an administration with high integrity, innovation and competitiveness and to reduce leakages.
