KUALA LUMPUR:Srikandi Muda, the women’s youth wing of Parti Pribumi Bersatu Malaysia (Bersatu), is not at all not surprised if UMNO was willing to conspire with DAP for power in the political crisis in Perak.

Its chairman, Datin Ema Syuhaili Mohamad Sukor said it is the nature of UMNO that cannot be changed despite being rejected by the people in the 14th General Election (GE14).

"We express regret over what happened in Perak. It proves that the parties that are considered as allies to uplift the Malays in Perak had defected and gave space to a non-Malay government to be in power.

"It also reflects the greed for power by their greedy group," she said in a statement here, on Saturday.

On Friday, Chenderiang ADUN who is also Perak Menteri Besar, Datuk Seri Ahmad Faizal Azumu failed to get the majority support in the motion of confidence in him at the State Legislative Assembly on Friday morning with 48 rejecting while 10 other ADUNs supported and one vote abstained.

Meanwhile, Ema Syuhaili said the statement by UMNO Secretary-General, Datuk Seri Ahmad Maslan that the vote of confidence was meant only to change the Menteri Besar, was not relevant at all.

"This is because Article 16 (6) of the Perak State Constitution (and Article 43 (3) of the Federal Constitution) provides; when the Menteri Besar loses the confidence of the majority of the House, he shall resign as Menteri Besar (or advise to dissolve the House).

"Once the Menteri Besar has resigned, then the Cabinet or Exco will automatically dissolve itself.

"So, Malay-dominated government to defend the Malays in Perak has collapsed altogether by the act of 'hands of UMNO' who are too eager to rule," she said.

Earlier, the Sultan of Perak, Sultan Nazrin Muizzuddin Shah urged political parties in Perak to find the best formula in resolving the political crisis in the state.

Perak Senate Member, Datuk Seri Annuar Zaini said it was not Sultan Nazrin's responsibility to solve all the problems that occurred.
