IPOH: Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin will lose control in the government if he submits to UMNO's demands.

Parti Amanah Negara (Amanah) Communications Director Khalid Abdul Samad said, although he is still the prime minister, it is not impossible that eventually he will lose power.

He explained that if UMNO's demands were met, the party will continue to make demands from time to time.

"The wishes of the people have all been pushed back. Right now, it is all on the basis of negotiations.

"If he is brave, if Muhyiddin gives in to UMNO's demands, this is the beginning of the end.

"This month, he (UMNO) asked for this, six months later, he will ask for another, and so on, because Muhyiddin has lost control," he said when met after officiating the 5th Annual Amanah Negeri Perak Convention here, today.

On Friday, UMNO Supreme Council member Datuk Seri Tajuddin Abdul Rahman said UMNO should be given the post of deputy prime minister in addition to several strategic ministerial posts.

This is because, he said, the party has a greater number of parliamentary seats.

In the meantime, Khalid said Amanah was very disappointed and saddened by the current political situation in the country to the extent that politics was seen as something dirty, for self-interest and burdened the people.
